Hello, I'm Jennifer Espérance, the founder.

Having suffered from acne since adolescence, I was the victim of mockery and humiliation throughout my adolescence and during the first part of my life as a young adult woman. This situation made me lose a lot of self-confidence, which greatly handicapped me both in my private life and in my professional life.

3 edifying observations

After spending years testing all the solutions available on the market to remedy my skin problems, it was at the age of 25 that I finally decided to find the causes of my acne, in order to remedy it myself. During these years of research, I made 3 edifying observations.

Observation #1: Dark, matte and light skin have different structures and needs.

Observation #2: The available solutions are only tested on light skin.

Finding #3: There is a severe lack of expertise in dark to matte skin on the part of beauty professionals and dermatologists.

My training

After spending more than 5 years training myself in healthy eating and natural cosmetics, then after passing my certification in naturopathy, the progressive implementation of all this knowledge allowed me to regain healthy skin , and thus regain self-confidence, in all areas of my life.

In 2020, I decided to create Mawu Paris in order to offer women with ultra-sensitive skin a simple and effective solution to enhance their skin, but not only...

Honoring the goddesses that we are

This misadventure allowed me to understand that my value did not lie in the appearance of my skin , but rather in the way I perceived myself, as well as the degree of love I had for myself.

This is why I decided to create a brand that honors women as the goddesses that we are, by considering each of our specificities and celebrating them, rather than perpetuating a "BULLSHIT inclusivity", which tries to ignore these differences, which make us unique beings.
